Autograph letter signed. Sprague thanks Burnet for a copy of his Notes on the Northwestern Territory. He also comments on Zachary Taylor and Daniel Webster as presidential candidates for the Whig Party. Sprague, a resident of Massachusetts, writes that his state is committed to Webster but that he wishes to know more about Taylor. He also mentions that the supporters of General Taylor and the friends of Henry Clay advocate Mr. Laurence's nomination for vice president.
